Leadership and Systems Consultation

Senior leadership in social services is not well described by most leadership development content. The challenges are specific: staff in crisis, systems under-resourced, organizational dysfunction that doesn't resolve cleanly, and decisions that carry real consequences for real people. The further into leadership you move, the fewer people around you who can hold the full picture, and the more carefully you have to manage what you say and to whom.

This consultation is for people who are past the point of needing general leadership coaching and who are looking for a structured, confidential space to think through what is actually happening in their organization and what to do about it.

This work is designed for senior professionals in health, social services, child welfare, and related sectors, for example clinical managers, executive directors, program directors, and team leads who are navigating the intersection of clinical accountability and organizational complexity. You may be managing staff conflict, implementing structural change under pressure, dealing with the political dynamics of a board or ministry relationship, or carrying moral injury from decisions that a system forced your hand on.

The further into leadership you move, the fewer people around you who can hold the full picture. Peers have competing interests. Staff look to you for steadiness. A board or ministry relationship requires careful management of what you disclose. The result is a particular kind of isolation which is not the absence of people but the absence of anyone you can think out loud with without consequence.

Sessions focus on the specific situation you bring, whether that's the organizational challenge, the personnel issue, the structural problem, or the decision you're working toward. The work is analytical and direct. It draws on Kristin's experience in leadership across complex public sector systems and governance.

This is not therapy and it is not clinical supervision. It is a structured professional consultation with someone who has operated at a senior level inside the same kinds of systems you are managing, and who can engage with both the structural and the human dimensions of what you're navigating.

Sessions are 75 minutes. The extended length allows space to move from the immediate situation to the broader context in which it's occurring, which is often where the actual problem is.

Fee: $275 per session

Kristin is a Registered Social Worker with over 25 years of experience across social work, leadership, policy, and governance. She spent more than a decade in child welfare management and senior leadership, working inside systems where decisions carried significant consequences and where the gap between organizational mandate and operational reality was a daily fact of the work.

She has managed teams under pressure, led through restructuring, navigated ministry and board relationships, and worked in environments where the political and the clinical were inseparable. She completed her Master of Social Work and is currently completing a doctorate, with academic work focused on systems, decision-making, and organizational culture.

She understands what it is to be responsible for outcomes in a system that doesn't always give you what you need to produce them. She will engage directly with what you bring and offer analysis over reassurance.
