When you’ve been trying to sort things out and you’re still stuck.
You may have spent a lot of time thinking about what to do. You may understand the situation quite well and still not know what to do with it.
That can happen when there is more than one thing at stake.
Therapy gives you somewhere to look at the whole picture, including what is happening around you and what is happening for you.
People come to therapy for different reasons. Work has become difficult. A relationship has changed. Someone they love is struggling. They are facing a decision they have been putting off. Life looks different than they expected it to. Sometimes several of these things are happening at the same time.
I’m interested in what is actually happening in your life and how you are responding to it.
I’ll ask questions and tell you what I notice. We might look at a pattern that keeps showing up or spend some time with something you have been trying to think your way through. I won’t assume that every problem is yours to fix.

I’m a registered social worker and psychotherapist.
Before moving into private practice, I spent nearly two decades in child welfare, including many years in management and leadership. I also teach, provide professional training, conduct clinical investigations and work in research. I’m completing my PhD in Social Work at McGill University.
My background has made me interested in both the person and the context they are living in.
What happens in relationships matters. So does what happens at work. The systems people live and work within matter too.

In-person sessions take place at 1 Crescent Road, Suite 209, in Huntsville, Ontario.
The office serves Muskoka, and people also travel in from Nipissing and Simcoe, including North Bay and Orillia, each roughly an hour away. Virtual sessions are available to all residents of Ontario.
